There is an upside.

The motors were dead.

But a Tool charity I am/was/will be involved in asked me to salvage some other parts.
What they needed to repair other dead donated machines.
Up shop of that I got £10.

So with consent of the original person we turned the £10 into consumables they use in their workshops.

Today I acquired the repaired drive for the cnc lathe I bought a couple of months back. £450 repair still sees me up and running for less than a third of what the lathe is worth ...

Got a Britons door closer from an old shop being refitted, i had to straighten the bent arm but it works perfectly well.

Are those the ones that are filled with stinky oil? Seen a few of them busted up over the years, as if someone has thought to salvage the scrap then lobbed it in disgust when the oil came out.

Not seen or smelled the oil it got bent up when the took the door off, it never got to the skip.

Got a box of odd metal and off cuts left on the drive from my mates scrap bin, It has some ally and nice heavy bits ideal for my messing about.

Recently, I want to buy CNC Router machines for my factory. So I searched some information about it. Here are some information I want to share with you guys. I hope it's useful for you, too.

5. Cooling water for spindle motor

A small cast iron Fly Press arrived today. Has a 2 1/4" by 6" throat. Should be easy enough to adapt my Whitney punch & dies to fit, and would be a lot easier to use than the hand tool.
The owner said it's presently set up to install brass eyelets in tarp's.

I also ordered this because the expensive Eastwood version looks goodish and this might be OK for an amateur like me if it lasts long enough to do a few jobs. We shall see

went to pick up a table for my lathe project, really well made (ignore the paint) well braced as it is so minimal work needed to fit the colchester bantam from the 1920s i bought a couple of years ago when well oiled... 2 bottles of red oil and an open ebay tab £60

The bar of Delrin ex the 'Bay finally turned up today, so I made a start on the new bush for the Meddings.



Not finished, but I'll have to hunt down a 5/8" drill to get the final I/D for the shaft, and 'shape' the rest of it using the original as a pattern.

the main reason i bought it was the vice liked it and wanted it

I'll bet that the upside-down red plastic pouch in photo five has auger bits in it. I have the same set from my father.

Are you sure you're not rummaging through my dads old tool boxes? Stored under my house with similar array of wood handled screwsdrives, that bent metal loop handle screwdrive, the square jawed ratcheting brace, box spanners, hammer with cut down handle, plate spanners (bike spanners?). The gilbows, despite me as a kid putting one handle in the vice and hammering the other to cut 3mm ali, live in my box as they still cut well.

Cloth tape lives in my mums sideboard - I think she refused to believe me its rather inaccurate now.
