A friend used one of the motorized rams , modified it a bit to be the power motor for his spit roast BBQ running it off a 12 volt battery being charged with an old fashioned buzz box battery charger He mad a bigger one for a friend used the actual recliner chair toroidal transformer .. strong enough to turn a full grown hog on the bearing sleeved spit .

I'm contemplating using one of my 12 volt rams off one of my old disability vehicles .... 150 kg hoist for a lightweight motorised press to press fruit for my wine & cider making juice's . ( Round Tuit number 32 )

A new toy for camping:





Dometic 12/24 volt compressor fridge that I'll be installing on slide out rails under the bunk in the van. Bought the optional mains adapter for quicker cooling, and on test it's just dropped down from ambient to 2 degrees in under 15 minute, so I'm well happy. It's the same make and model that I had in a previous wagon, and I couldn't fault that one. Easily takes a full weeks' supply of perishable food, so it will be nice to have fresh stuff, as well a cold beer or two. And it's a "proper" fridge as well, not like the cheap coolers that the likes of Halfrauds sell that only cool to about 15 degrees below the ambient temperature. This one will freeze to an accredited -18.

It's "maiden voyage" will be in a few weeks time. I've just sent my scuba regulators up to the dive centre at Oban for service, and as I sorely need a few days break, it seemed like a good idea to have a road trip and collect them myself, renew some old acquaintances, and dive some of the big wrecks in the Sound of Mull. And on the way home I can fill the empty fridge with scallops and possibly nip in to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar at Inverary .

Just sent payment for this 3 month old Oriend Bambino Gen 2 in gold plated case, 40.5mm dia, Been wanting one for a while now when this turned up for £75 posted by RMSD!, I won't be receiving it until next week though..

I used to use it for dropping car body shells onto to get them out of the workshop as access was not good for the scrappy and his transit, it is an extendable trolly from ERDE, solid tyres, center spine, would take a lot of weight, I think they used for missiles or torpedo transport around the place, I will take a picture or three! I put my 60ton press on it and then wonched the whole lot onto my transit for the journey home, transit would not go through the gap into the rear garden so I towed the thing with my dumper truck!

lay it on 2 bits of ally spaced apart on a concrete floor. put some on the top middle on the threads to protect them then get someone to hold it and give it a good whack with a big hammer

Don't waste your time the jaw teeth are flattened. Buy a new top jaw or bin it all.
