Sounds like something my boss said a few years ago, dealer wanted £4000 I think to fit a front pto to my tractor, he said that was too expensive so bought a whole new tractor instead.

A pile of structural steel,back from the galvaniser,whilst taking in another load,I fabricated this lot in January,waited until I had another load to utilise the journey best,it’s all part of a new restaurant,my next door neighbor,just one field separates us,the most local job I could dream of .

2.2lb of wild bee's wax.

No idea what they fed on but it is a fantastic smell.

Some times it smells like a grass medow, or a rose, or lavender. All depending on were you rub it.

After a duff non fitting cheapo reg off ebay , i decided to get a proper decent brand one and the quality is a huge difference and actually fits which is nice !. Seems a good construction and general quality good for hobbyists like me anyway.

Then got a flow meter to go with it from advice on this fourm to make sure i do not waste gas as im a tight git would never let that wasteage happen so the flow meter was ordered. Also got a 3/8 BSP hydraulic fitting from work just to put in my hose as a barb.

Think i have it all set up right around 12 litres per min on the flow gauge but the regulator reads a bit higher ,If anyone had any tips from experience or good setup videos id be glad to hear them!

Got it all fully setup on my argon mix and started welding away , Very pleased with it all find MIG welding with gas a walk in the park after becoming mediocre in stick. Also getting on a lot better than flux core.

Then think this was my first fillet weld attempt very pleased , Not perfect but i am working on it

Make sure you always use the basket. They go pop if you put in a heavy item whilst it is running without the basket. Ask me how I know.

Similarly don't run it empty of liquid - it'll either fatigue the tank, or get all over-excited and shake the transducers apart.

Marked JB and 28 lbs., it actually weighs thirty one pounds. There's some rust but it appears unused, as I can't see any hammer marks on the surface or edges. 315 mm long, 67 mm wide, 65mm high, its a good size for a bench top anvil. The bubble wrap to protect it during shipping was a nice touch but had me laughing.

I've got a nice 10 litre one that I don't want to bin that was playing up for a while then stopped working, but the price of new ones is now much lower than when I bought it....
My wife has just asked if I can clean her necklace but it's the chain that's rusted so not really going to work, could I get away with buying her a new silver chain and say I needed to get a new 10/15 litre maching to do it with

Would it be worth fitting 4 new transducers from Ebay or buying a new one???

Work is underway on a new garage, so builders tolerances are fine for my purpose. Even with reasonable care a tape doesn't last long doing ground and blockwork. The tape rusts and the mechanism wears out in no time, so the ones from the Pound Shop are a bargain for doing rough work.

I've noted smaller ones offered on ebay occasionally, but as I don't like hammering on a Vice-anvil, this thirty pound anvil should be fine for anything I'm likely to need it for, and if not, my neighbour has a large anvil in his garage / welding shop I can use.
