Yes, but I'll start by exploring the world of mill tooling and collets. And all the other excuses I have to buy angle plates, and 1,2,3 blocks and, well all of that.Looks good, now power feeds,

Makes the mill drive itself when carrying out cutting operations, just a speed control with left and rightYes, but I'll start by exploring the world of mill tooling and collets. And all the other excuses I have to buy angle plates, and 1,2,3 blocks and, well all of that.
But, yes powered feeds, one day, does that allow plugging into a 'pooter to do and work? Or do you need stepper motors and control modules?
I'll start simple with tooling....
I'll watch that video in bit, thanks.
Sorry auto correct removed the word cnc, to and.Makes the mill drive itself when carrying out cutting operations, just a speed control with left and right
Cracking video, yeah I've been watching him since I found Fireball Tool, he's good, a little bit irritating, but his knowledge and evaluations are excellent.Yes, but I'll start by exploring the world of mill tooling and collets. Go on then, @Hood , simple cnc conversion for dummies please.Power feed is old school, CNC it
Servo or stepper motors and drives, controller or breakout board, preferably ball screws, lots of wiring, PC and controller software. Or instead of pc you could use a standalone controller.Go on then, @Hood , simple cnc conversion for dummies please.
Don't get too technical on me, it's day 1 with a mill, and I still don't know what all the bits do.
Obviously I'd need one of those 'pooter things to control it...
Thank you @Hood , I'll start with basic conventional milling, one day I'll explore that alley, maybe....Servo or stepper motors and drives, controller or breakout board, preferably ball screws, lots of wiring, PC and controller software. Or instead of pc you could use a standalone controller.
Financially yes mentally no.I’m sure many here would concur, if it wasn’t for workshops and machine tools, we’d all be a lot richer!
Uphill / downhill milling, climb etc, yeah, give me time, might start with hdpe so I don't start by killing my small collection of tooling.....Not climb milling then?
I'm not helping, I know.
I’ll put some Odd cutters together for you just organise the postage.Uphill / downhill milling, climb etc, yeah, give me time, might start with hdpe so I don't start by killing my small collection of tooling.....
Complete beginner.
Oh yes please, let me know. Many thanks. Very kind. Thank you Brad.I’ll put some Odd cutters together for you just organise the postage.
