Not one shelve was acquired today.
But I did look on some.
This is what I got.
Half size Storm Lantern. German made, but with a NATO stock number on the filler cap. Plus a possible one on the underside of the tank.
This meat grinder is also ex armed forces stock. It is dirty, greasy, but complete.
There is a cunning plan for that.
Along with the items below.
But this item of fun has a lot of history.
British made, supplied to the Americans armed forces during WW1.
Adjustable spanner for a Lewis gun mount. It was designed to double has a hammer. As the bolts would bend and needed to be tapped out.
A few old hands will know what this is for.

Today i didnt aquire..
This popped up on my Facebook marketplace feed, it was listed 12 mins earlier... i messaged the chap, my surname is Beech, that toolbox has my name written all over it.. i will have the toolbox, i can pick it up now, or whenever is best for you..
He didnt reply, i sent a few more messages, he still didn’t reply, i then asked him if he actually wanted to sell the toolbox, no reply... the advert is no longer there, so i presume, he sold it..

Happens sometimes, missed out on a collection of mamod steam engines a couple days ago. Traction engine and two stationary ones £30 the lot and only 30mins away. Saw the listing 28 mins after it was put up but was gone by then.

Last night I acquired... the realisation that I'd spent way more than I'd earned last month on tools 
Not only is the capital funds pot empty, so is my current account.
It's amazing how easy it is to get into the "£40 here, £30 here" and before you know it, it's all gone... Not helped by the big spends on DRO and pressbrake tooling, but those were accounted for... it was all the little spends that weren't!

Thankfully I have a couple of smallish jobs to bill, and 2 larger ones in the book... I had got used to having a nice buffer in current account AND tools/capital account...
Having SWMBO look over my shoulder at the accounts last night didn't help
Now i'll have to fill the buffers back up and have a couple of lean months and really try not to buy anything i don't desperately need.
Not sure how I'd manage if I went full time... I think that's why I'm trying to invest as much in gear as I can now, since that might be the eventual goal. That, and i'll have to cut back on work when we have kids.
That's what I tell myself anyway

My wife does our accounting, which is fine with me, since she doesn't hate doing it as much as I do, and I'll have to admit that she probably has more money sense than I do. I'm kind of an impulse buyer, whereas she thinks more about things before laying down the cash, which serves as a good example to me. Otherwise, our living room would be full of tools instead of furniture.
