aye fairly regular occurance here too, the first time I just about shaaaat meself...., thought something had exloded, took me a few moments to figure it out..

It took me months to figure out the sonic booms, I ran out of the house the first time it happened, I couldn’t hear the plane, couldn’t figure out what the bang was - no quarries for miles, but none of the neighbours batted an eyelid. I asked one of them after the second or third time it happened and they explained.

In a previous life I've spent a lot of time in various aircraft factories around the world - came out of LMCO facility in Fort Worth, Tx, which is the other side of the road to a (naval) air force base where there was going to be an airshow at the weekend. The flight line was over the factory - I spent a while laid in the back of the pickup watching the F16 sales demo flight . . . inverted over my head - could see the pilot clearly. Going vertical under full afterburner directly above . . . the truck, the ground, me, all shook and vibrated . . impressive stuff.

As was watching it try not to fall out of the air trying to remain alongside a WW2 Mustang long enough to appear they were in formation.

We were on a campsite on a lake somewhere near the Ardenne, can’t recall quite where, the book said can be noisy due to military aircraft. They weren’t kidding, the aircraft flew down the valley afterburner on with the odd sonic boom. Very spectacular at night with the flame from the afterburner. I’m sure they did it on purpose, just enough time to settle down & boom!

Its a side channel vac pump, that one is Chinese but from what I have seen of them they all appear to be the same/badge engineered. I need one more if you know of one

We had 8 in the factory on scald tanks for air agitation. From what I remember they had a weird motor rating like 4.65kw. They all got scrapped when the factory closed.

today i aquired a dirty great WODEN190,,/8A vice all steel one
not quick release though has the plain acme thread , be fun welding up and fettling all the damaged bits
might even surface grind the shiny bits
it was local too at 90lbs it would be a bit big for the postie
new jaws on e bay too surprisingly

I acquired... New wheels on my car. Bear in mind, the old ones were so horribly corroded and ugly, that I hated cleaning my car, it looked best dirty! I'm chuffed to bits with these, they're OE wheels for an Fpace but same size as my old ones, I got em off ebay for half the price I've seen them advertised for oh and they aren't cracked and buckled so it also drives better

I was bought the exact same set of carving chisels/gouges for my 14th birthday, never did anything serious with them, I think they got passed along to one of my uncles after a couple of years.

An orange T6½ service van got delivered today.

It's very nice. 208 miles on the clock. Auto and twin arm rests. My last yellow one was a Transit Custom, will see how they compare. Had a T5½ before but this is much nicer inside.

The one in my Custom was great. In fact the whole was van great, i loved it. I wasn't in the least bit sad to leave that job, but i was sad to see my van go.

An old 205 turbo-diesel. The most sporty-handling tight-steering car I've ever had, for country lanes on the IoW anyway.
No airbags, no ECU, and it weighs under 950 Kg!
