Don't laugh!

I acquired a bloody painful burn to my bottom lip last night. Popped a stale croissant in the microwave (I'm not fussy). Nuked it for about 30 seconds and put it to my mouth. This inside was hollow and steam filled...as I bit the tip off I got a whoosh of steam did this.

I'm a giant ugly f***er anyway but this looks like a bloody cold sore. It doesn't really hurt much mind. Worried whether I'll be able to navigate a pint glass in 3hr16m.

It's a 1996 JCB3CX Project 8 Sitemaster Plus.

(I actually got it a couple of weeks ago but had to arrange transport)

The seller had made no attempt to make it look any better than it was - cab absolutely strewn with junk, empty cans, rags etc, but having spent about a day clearing the cab, filling an entire dustbin with detritus, and a good blow out with an air line, hoover up and a wipe down with a wet rag everything is in amazingly good condition for a 25 year old machine. Even all the rubber gaiters are intact.

Tyres aren't fantastic but probably OK for my usage.

Too darn much. I'd set my budget at 10K, but the machines I inspected at that limit were all dreadful old dogs, often with no buckets and VAT'able. (I'm not VAT registered)
When I worked out what it was going to cost me to get buckets and a quick hitch (this one has 5 buckets and a QH) and also to put into a condition that I would be happy with I realised that I need to up my game. When this one popped up free of VAT and in apparently amazingly good condition I snapped it up at 17K

Metric Rivnut installation tool, a proper one. M4 to M10, will do stainless rivnuts up to M10 too. It wasn't cheap but I'm worth it

Good value! we paid £14k 5-6 years back for our POS Fermec which is half clapped out and has needed quite a bit of work to keep running.

One minor irritation on the JCB is that the ash tray flap is flapped out and won't latch back. Now I don't smoke, don't need an ash tray but the flap is in the way. Taking it out to see if it's mendable (it's not!) I noticed several numbers in the moulding.

A quick google revealed that a Mk1 Mondeo uses the same ashtray - eBay is providing a brand new one for a very modest fee

But the diagnostic says nowt is wrong.

Do a proper obd2 instead of the onboard diagnostic, then you’ll get some results
