A banana shape type wedge is what you want for removing a gib key. Point at one end, with a widening taper whilst having a curve. Unlike a straight wedge, it'll keep roughly equal pressure on all of the key surface.
got a name for those? sounds useful
if it was suborn I'd tend to use a couple of flat bars with a chisel between
I have a Sealey Premier socket set and some screw drivers cant fault them really nothing has brokenWhat do you make of that sealey stuff? Not really used it for one reason or another but it’s cheap enough for a truck box.
You lucky boy !Just spotted this on my way home left out for scrap

And quite expensive
definately if its what you need , and how much would a fall of a make do ladder cost you ? broken hip, months off , na its gotta be worth it eh/I thought that at first. I was reading this thread: https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/good-step-ladder.105485/ and at first I was going to buy the
Werner fibreglass ladder as recommended by @eLuSiVeMiTe and at £85 very good value. But the reality is I need a ladder which extends and I don't want two ladders so the one above fits the bill. It cost me £220 (okay, I got a few pence change) delivered to my door AND it came with enough cardboard for me to make a template for my soon-to-be swing out welding stool.
Win Win as far as I can see.
Got a Ali set like that. Incredibly useful.A new set of ladders. I just became fed up with a succession of DIY store rickety ally rubbish.
So I went overboard. A set of Little Giant "King Combo" ladders that are 3 in 1. Sounds a bit like a fast food takeaway meal to be honest:
The bottom rung has a bit of a full width insert in it that I think is going to get old fast. When you step on it it gives a loud audible "CLICK" so you know you are on the bottom rung.......
It opens up to make a 3m long ladder. Very strong, very stable. Not the lightest thing in the world but very solid.
Lol. Yup.I wouldn't disagree for one minute that they wouldn't be but when youv'e already got 3 tread 5 tread and and three sets of ladders I had to talk me self out of buying them.
I can relate. Did it earlier today from the second stepThe problem I have with step ladders is that I step off them far too early, often from the third or fourth rung. I have no idea why. It certainly gives the wedding tackle a tweak.
