I got a few other bits today, when I was out with my friewnd.
Some I paid for, some she paid for.
Dull bits for on going restoration projects on the go.
I used to joke she could rock my world.
So we found this, so now she can spin me right round.
A working Meccano Magic motor, that bottle of oil again and a date stamped Slater scale set.
Oh My
Any one who has been on HMS Caroline, may have seen this item before.
It is the only place I have seen them, as they should of been removed, made safe and dispossed of.

Some storage tubs from Wilko. They had big 145L and 75L garden tubs for £15 and £10 each.

A few weeks ago, a good friend told me the toy bazaar was visiting a part of Tel Aviv. A place she can stop by if I wanted her too.
Thinking nothing more off it I suggested that she looks out for the Mamod/steam store and see if they had the old style whistles.
Hoping they did and I could send her the funds for them.
Today this arrived.
I have removed the custom stickers and the details of the address it was sent from.
Now I was expecting a small letter size delivery. I was a shocked when this arrived.
Knowing my friend likes a joke, who doesn't?
Two classic Mamod Steam whistles.
Plus newspapers.
The box was far from empty.
BUBBBBBBLE WRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you can just see whats in it.
This was a case of put the coffee down, resist the poping of bubbles.
A complete Mamod Workshop.
An old one.
The Top RHD is a punch, not the press.
Happy me.

That is SOO cool. I had no idea such stuff even existed! I'd love to see a video of some of it in action.
What can you do with the power punch? Does it have a useful function?
I had the hammer attachment when I was a kid, the tools are more for the amusement of seeing the engine driving some "stuff" , they haven't got enough oomph to do any real work I'd think.
Must dig out my old mamod engine and fire it up.

Under the influence of @Robotstar5 s Christmas picture, I picked up a Union toolmakers cabinet. A couple of drawers needed repaired, will be handy for Lathe tools.

The punch will punch paper.
They changed it to a press, for safety reasons, for the USA market.
But thr grinder and polisher do work, albeit sllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Thats why they brought out the Super heated engines, to give more power to the twins.
But it was about show.
I have attached a Mamod to a few Meccons builds when I was a lot younder.

In the 1970's they stopped selling the units as single tools. They made a "Work Shop" on a base.
Mecccon and Mamdod got together to ensure the fixinsg from one would fit another.
Here you can see a Meccano engine driving a workshop.
This set up shoews one of my very early engines powereing a set of early 1960's tools. This was before the engines were d e tunned to en-courage the bigger stationary engines to be brought.
Ok Now I am just being a show off.
Some did nothing but light a light.
The "Genny" is a Meccano Motor designed from the late 1970's early 1980's. It was powered in the motor form from a 4.5 v battery.
More show off time
A Rare working Kenneth Wells engine. This was made to allow schools to encourage the making of a steam engine. From parts supplied, or from plans. Or from moulds to cast parts.
If made to the plans, they had about 30 t0 50% more power than a Mamod. But by then Mamod had the markets and their engines could go forward and backwards. The KW engines could not.
This engine, was in a terrible state when I got it.
One of the very first "Movable engines, albeit forward only.
But it shows that parts are avaialable and they make a nice restoration project.
The boiler looks shocked.
Restored, working.
I have changed the whistle to the correct one.
Got a Meths burner for it as well.
