It got me googling Old sump spanner
The markings on the tool gave some clues to it's use and manufacturer.
It is a MELCO DPW/4.
Heavy duty sump plug spanner.
Thanks for the pointers guys, it will be going onto the "TYA Board of curiosities"
I had a play on a Pug 205 diesel sump plug, no. Not doing that again.

Today....well yesterday actually, I re-homed this a beauty, collected it from precision engineering firm, where it had been left sat unloved on a shelf for years, cost me 90-00 of our best beer tokens.
So the manufacture/search is on for the rest of the bits for it, apart from the missing bits the only broken part appears to be the end of the locating pin which engages in the indexing plate, which is a quick fix.

A Dividing/Indexing Head, used for cutting gears on a milling machine.
It rotates the gear blank/shaft and accurately controls the spacing of the gear teeth while cutting.

What I didn't acquire today!!!
A 12" Record sanding machine, real heavy duty and an 8" double ended polishing machine again good old heavy kit.
Both in an old school just days from demolition and both "oh you better not touch them in case they want them" The place is deserted, the new school is in use, the machines have un-serviceable tags on them, and they will both almost certainly end up in the skip! Bloody waste!
I did get a wooden stool that I'll use for tig welding at my bench with.
Still not happy.
I feel I've let the side down.....

I was lucky the design tech bloke at a local school put all the redundant stuff on Gumtree!
All sorted with values and receipts, got my self a polisher which I gave to a mate and I kept my Startrite drill, all went to good homes and got the school a few quid

Indeed, that has the direct indexing attachment which mine is missing and that is the model that can take a drive from a power feed.

Just a tad.....To heavy to store on the floor or a low shelf, my one will live on the top of the roll cab by the mill along with the rotary table.
I have the information/manual for it in a pdf format, if your interested?

I keep a 1" bar through the spindle to allow me to lift it a bit easier.
