I went out to get some 13A plugs, in b&q, couldnt find any. Asked a staff, she came back with round pin 15A plugs I did not know they were still sold or in use.

I found 13a plugs but they were three pounds EACH. As I left I checked the clearance bit where the 15A plugs were..might be useful.

Switches and boxes may be useful for the melter project.
Tempted to fit a 15a socket in the shed for welder and melter.

Then to Aldi for these wall trays, I got two. Should allow me to find a home for amall parts.

The 15a (and smaller 5a) round pin plugs are meant for lighting circuits only. We use them in theater lighting, most have swapper to 16a commando plugs now though or iec (kettle leads) for smaller stuff.

How best to preserve it? Don’t want to do a full repaint

Even if I am not directly addressed: Keep the beautiful piece dry and well ventilated under a roof and forget about the paint!

The condition is apparently a lot better than mine started out. If it's not rusted internally then I would say it's worth several hundred euro.

Of course if you're convinced it's worthless I'll pay postage

How best to preserve it? Don’t want to do a full repaint - any advice please @The_Yellow_Ardvark ?

Get it into a dry space.
Lift it up. Take the wheels off.
With warm soapy water give it a thorough clean.
Allow to dry.
Inspect for worm and treat with good worm killer.
Look for rot. Treat or replace.

If you want to repaint now is the time.
If not go over and remove loose or flaky paint with a cabinet scraper.

Then with bee's wax dissolved into me the apply a good few coats. You want the meths to draw the wax in.

Then wax/linseed oil. Apply many coats until you have a finish you like.

Metal work. Treat for rust. Then fire back finishes look good.
Brass buff and seal with wax.

Wheels as above.

Bearings. Tallow or a natural based grease.

A charrette, a small cart. Our elderly neighbour has it in her field barn which she’s now sold and wants rid of it. It’s quite small and has very short thin shafts, so not horse-drawn; maybe a donkey cart, or just hand drawn?

I’m going to drag it out tomorrow or Thursday, will get some better photos once it’s out in the daylight.

The beekeper in the next village gave me a big lump of wax last summer, I’ve just make up some polish with olive oil and vitamin E(?) from a recipe off the internet, will try and find some meths and make different batch

Been looking for a set of Dunlop tracking gauges for a while. Usually they are too far away and collection only or if the seller is willing to post people bid bonkers money for them.

I don't mind travelling but when they are all 3 hours or so away that's too far

Browsing FB MP last night found a set in Pontypridd for £50 and only 45mins each way to collect

They need a really good clean but are all there and work

My nutter of a sister , a born again Christian , rekki healer & Buddist has apparently just been ejected from the extended family Faceache group for her stupidity wrt the anti vax rubbish she has been posting . I know it's not nice but I often hope that she will get a near death dose of it and suffer long covid so she knows exactly how hundreds of thousands who have had it are struggling because of numpties like her .
