£183.95 and they take cash too. They are not dear at that, regular rubbish are £75 and last ten minutes AND cripple me because they don't fit properly, I have to get a ten in order to get the width, makes my feet look ridiculous and I really don't need any help in the ridicule department!

I had a look on Rufflander's site. Like you say, reasonably priced for what what they are, especially when compared to the cost of Daytona brand boots. I like bespoke quality personal accessories and can see a purchase on the horizon. It will be a worthwhile place to stop when we take a trip to the Peak District. Thanks for posting about it.

Today, at last, the Lincoln Bester 190 turned up at school; this is the one I'd won in soshul meeja (Instagram) just before Christmas in a competition run by Ruth Amos and Lincoln Welding UK. Haven't got shielding gas sorted at school yet so took it home and hooked it up to my own gas, wire and torch; what a wee cracker of a machine!

No, this isn't a 'rate my welding' thing but if it massages your ago then fire away; this was the first time I've had a proper go in several months!

Lincoln welding have been absolutely great over the last few years; a couple of years ago I asked them for a small sample of their NR211P fluxcore so I could show my faculty head just how poor the fluxcore we had at the time was; kids were welding and stuff was just falling apart... the Scottish rep sent me a whole 5kg reel and it has been very reliable.

A skip dive today got me a few nice things.

Torx drive keys, funnel, draper pliers and 2 screwdrivers.

Another hammer and a set of odd oliers.
@Parm. It is not your hammer.

A MAgLite torch, it doesn't work, but the abtteries are dead. Plus some lable remover.

A few more bits to add to the body ram kiy I got last year.
To the person it is headed for. I can wait untill you and I can meet.

My wife's father had one of those steam rollers in very nice condition, in the box. They kept it in the loft and it was stolen by a plumber sent by the council to look at the cold water tank.

The thread on it's so smooth...bought it as I've got some bushes to make for my volvo tow bar (why did I sell my lathe!!!!). Very happy with the condition of it too...no drill marks on it anywhere (I'll soon add some of course!)

I too would like a decent bench top drill press vice say a 4 incher... Currently I've got two Chinese cast iron bodied ones both are sub £26 and are evil . The original that came with the drill in1993 died when it split its back in 2007 when a " tradesmen " asked if he could use it in my man cupboard.

His mum & dad might be getting married next year .

I called in to a firm I used to work at a few years ago to raid the scrap bin, asked the guys in the office for permission.

So after 10 mins of skip diving the spoils of a quick visit.

There was another 2 piston shafts that I couldnt bring home, just to big to lift and fit in the disco, both were 7ft long x 3 inches diameter, might just have to hitch up the trailer possibly....
