I looked at that type as well, same £30 cost and nearly got both as the chuck type is attractive over 2 spanners operation on the collet, but the longer reach did it for me and pleased the collet is robust.
But b*gger it I may have to get the chuck one as well - this place is a nightmare for turning around tool reducing decisions

@eddie49 the speed controller you linked is very interesting, is there a rule of thumb on the sort of equipment I can control from it?

Yes the appliance has to have a motor with brushes. It won't work on induction motors. Thankfully, nearly all power tools are brushed motors certainly your die grinder is because I have the same one.

Just give in. It gets easier every time you do.

It's how i've somehow ended up with 12 angle grinders and 4 or 5 die grinders.

Not even sure where they all came from.

My Katsu die grinder does not have the long snout, and uses a 10mm Jacobs chuck rather than a collet, but it does have variable speed.

After I got the collet type die grinder, I got the chucked die grinder today, came with more accessories than expecting, been using it a fair bit - I like it!
I've also ordered the speed controller... Now stop it!

And a Bridgeport boring head, all I need to do now is either find a straight shank 5/8-20 thread adapter or more likely I will have to make one as it sounds like an uncommon thread for a boring head.

That engine crane looks suspiciously like a patient lift.

Yesterday was the big pickup day ... and of course I was able to photograph much less than I had planned ...

Such a machine is what it's actually about:

A Swedish Arboga U2508 - the definition a "drilling-milling machine", according to the classification of the professionals in the production area rather a pillar drilling machine with swivel device and cross table ...

... for me: my milling machine.

The machine head with gearbox and motor is always the thickest chunk - in order to exclude any risk during disassembly,
I specifically got one of these well-known motor jacks, with which it then went very well, although not much space was left.

Now the little one stands in our Sprinter in our yard - hopefully I will succeed at least during the assembly - when the small Myford gets company - to make some pictures more with good lighting.

Until then there are still a few jobs to do .... with this little machine, some of the purchases I have shown here lately now make sense ...

That engine crane looks suspiciously like a patient lift.

It is. The hospital were chucking it out. Made July 2020, I got it late last year. Corrosion apparently. It’s got pin prick flecks of rust on the feet.

I have the Arboga Maskiner ER1830 radial at work, fantastic machine, especially the power feed.
