I have the Arboga Maskiner ER1830 radial at work, fantastic machine, especially the power feed.

The peculiarities of this machine head (which also has its disadvantages, of course) makes the design of a radial drilling machine very simple.

Do you also have to use the proprietary Arboga tool holders, which the company is so proud of, that they let them weigh in gold?

I'm lucky that I got such a comprehensive accessories to the machine, as presented HERE.

I'll start thinking about an power feed when I've done some work with the machine then.

I'm afraid you may not have seen a woman's legs, or a skirt for that matter, for a little too long if you mistake my adult son's left arm for a woman in a miniskirt.

It is. The hospital were chucking it out. Made July 2020, I got it late last year. Corrosion apparently. It’s got pin prick flecks of rust on the feet.

I've got a crate of actuators from scrapped ones, never managed to get a complete lift though. It's unbelievable the amount of gear hospitals chuck out.

Every time my Dad breaks something (ribs, legs, elbows etc), the NHS send him out with a care package. Occupational Therapy visit and prescribe a walker, perching stool etc.

Over the years he accepts them, (repeatedly), then puts them straight in the garage!

Today, doing the bathroom door I used two very handy, adjustable height, NHS frames to rest the door on.

Tried giving it all back but they don't want to know.

No tool holders, just Morse (MT4?) taper. It really is a great design, auto eject chuck lever, auto feed with depth stop and geared head. This one was originally installed at Hayle Power Station in Cornwall, and was removed when it was decommissioned in early 70’s.

I missed out on an absolutely mint condition newer 1830 which was in my personal workshop - I didn’t know it was for sale, it was sold prior to me purchasing the workshop.

It’s such a good lift - mind, it cost $3,500 new, so you’d expect it to be good.

The lever at the back can be put in three positions for the legs - wide, straight or slim. The wheels glide over concrete. The electric lift is on a remote and really sensitive control. 150kg max apparently, I’ve lifted 250kg and it didn’t blink.

I had the option of a fully electric wheelchair, too. The bloke I got it off said he got one and rides it to the shop, parks it up, gets up and does his shop to disgusted looks from other shoppers. Doesn’t claim to have a blue card or owt, just says it’s quicker and cheaper than driving

It's a drill, I was thinking mill.
A drill doesn't need additonal holders.

Mine has a MT3.

I've had a Halfords Advanced 3/8 drive torque wrench, feels nice to use, is it Norbar, no idea

Is it really?

I've heard it mentioned a few times that they are made by Norbar, and they certainly look almost identical to the Norbar torque wrenches I have used. If you read all the information on the Halfords website they recommend that servicing and recalibration is carried out by Norbar.

It will be a lot shorter than 60" wheelbase once all the rust is gone, believe me!

Still it has been a faithfully servant for a long time and other Land Rovers will benefit from its useful parts.
