That looks like the same era as my S7 I think mine was built in 1965! Must have a newer gearbox though and the end cover changes with the gearbox too. Nice score
It wasn't planned at all and I don't even know how to set it up yet, but please tell me yourself:
Should I have let this opportunity pass me by?!?
But one thing after the other:

A smorgasbord of turning chisels and material for making more - clearly more on the large side.

Then the subject of QCTP thought of in a completely new way: If you have a buddy with a milling machine and build several of them, why not change the whole basic holder?

A box with various tools, some of which already point in the right direction ....

Here, by the way, we have arrived at the root of the Gedore tool brand:
The name is a compound of GEbrüder DOwidat REmscheid, which roughly means "Dowidat Brothers from/in Remscheid".

Slowly it is becoming clearer where the journey is going ....

I wasn't looking for a "Super 7", but I was looking for a gearbox.
On the classified ads portal here, where I pull most of my stuff from, you can set alerts for terms that interest you.
However, since the system has different response times and, on top of that, I don't use a smartphone, there are sometimes delays before I see an interesting offer.
So I see this offer (at a price of less than two-thirds of my ML7 ) and immediately start writing to the offerer after seeing only one photo.
Then I look at the timestamp of the offer and realise that there is no way I can be the first.
These are the pictures from the offer:

So I search the ad again for clues about the offerer and find enough to start looking for a phone number.
I find a phone number, call, actually get the offerer on the phone and while he is talking to me he opens his ad page ... he's completely blown away by the sheer volume of enquiries he's received on this offer and just says, "Oh, I must have offered that machine too cheap!".
But he is a man of his word, the next day I go there, the machine is connected and running.
I put down a deposit for a third of the asking price and arrange a collection date.
Now I've picked it up with my big son and I'm wondering how to set it up and what to do with the little ML7 ....
Have a wonderful day everybody
Carsten
