About 15 years ago they resurfaced our road, by dumping loose chippings down it. Most never stuck big holes after a month.
They resurfaced last week and I thought it was a good job, plenty of bitumen, stones and rollered. Annoying that two cars didnt move, or get towed out the way.

Few days later... Its crap, it hasnt stuck

It wasn't on my shopping list this morning but at £120 I thought it worth a go, and as I'll soon be home every night there's plenty of projects which will benefit from it. And I had to buy the pry bar set to get my debit card out of my wallet after it went into a "HOW MUCH????" sulk .

I have to get the fire brigade's jaws of life down for my wallet sometimes after it seized up when I've not used it for a while.

Mind you Huwie was born and bred in this area - Bob had a baptism of fire a few weeks ago as to fairly standard Welsh roads.

This came the other day. Quite partial to the design of these. I've had a standard one on the van for a couple of years or so now, & they hold up well. Good for pouring from too, for the power tools.



The explo-safe bit is this:



Filled with a wire mesh. Supposed to aid heat dissipation. Means you can't shove the filler nozzle right in though, as with a standard can.

I brought a bottle of Bacardi 151 proof back from Puerto Rico once that had one of those on the neck of the bottle!! It had a flammable warning on the back and a big notice not to remove the “flame arrestor”

Shoddy workmanship is more likely the culprit than a defect with the material itself. Pretty evident from the patch that has lifted that no bond coat has been applied (or was poorly applied) before the new material was laid.

Now I have un packed the contents, this is why I was happy to pay that amount of money.

Not much tto show.
But the Hex bitis for a old Socket set I have. Means a it is now complete, as with the silver Tommy bar. That will complete another set.

The lower blue screwdriver is a JIS Cross head. The side cutters are old Nipex. Very little use.

Fe more odd buts, a nice Record small plane, 25 foot tape measure, plus a few other nice bits I will use.

Plus some more weights.

1890's to 1910 American Copper bit iron. There is a name on it, but it needs to be cleaned.
