Used to watch the JPS going round Brands Hatch as a kid. Evaded security and jumped the fence one time to watch them testing the Tyrrell P34.

Used to go around the Paddock and scrounge JPS, Brabham, Durex stickers and posters etc.

Even saw the Brabham BT46 at the 78 Grand Prix.

Helped that M&Ds garden backed onto the circuit.

A Bahco 625 pocket carbide scraper.

The pros - it made short work of scraping the old Victorian paint off this door. I only intended to spend a couple of minutes on it just to test it...
I had seen people recommend going for the smaller one as you can actually work it faster than the larger one. Having used it, I'd agree with that.

The cons - this is scraper #4.
Bahco do seem to have some issue with the consistency of quality on these. First two I purchased both had the blade retaining screws tapped on the p**s. Not ideal given they are not exactly inexpensive.
Credit to their very helpful customer support, although it took them some time, they did send me out two replacements FOC. One of those was also slightly wonky and one was spot on.

Shame, because if you can get a good one, they do work well though.

Nice bits of kit but they get bloody heavy if you have a lot to do....

i got one at work and had the chance to use it its way better than my old tanka and also way better than the mountfield i also got and there not that heavy

I know, I know, I know, nobody can be so stupid to build a new project on an outdated standard,
the new stuff is comparatively much cheaper than the old stuff was back then
and that's the only way to keep your project open to the future and get spare parts for a long time to come .....

BUT:

a) I have had the experience several times that I only found out what I should have bought in reality after buying the expensive components when dealing with them;

and

b) these parts here were really dirt cheap.

According to this self-imposed rule, this stuff for almost no money is the stuff I try around with and learn to find out what I really want and need - that's what I buy then, so the theory ...

Then, as always, it's all provisional .... unless it works ...

That's how I was planning to do mine, if I ever get round to it. It doesn't count as an unfinished project, as I haven't even bought any of the parts yet

Funny you should say that. I asked for a ladder to get some weeds out the gutters and was told "We get a cherry picker in for that". I definitely don't have a IPAF card and I'm certain no one else here does, so I wonder who's using this lift.

They are easy as pie to drive...until the tilt sensor fails and it stops moving with you 8m up and nobody else on site

Ask me how I know...yes there was an emergency descent on a rope involved

I would sling that chuck in the nearest skip ,the morse taper is so pitted it will ruin any spindle its put into.

That is the remains of some sticky solution that covered it and the sliding bevel.

But as it is the internals of the chuck I think will be of use to me, I care not.
If it is junk, car boot will be it's future.

Little Bosch bit driver ratchet works a treat on it.

Also stocked up on M5 bolts

And bought some 5ah batteries for my old Dewalt gear.
