While you could make some, I found the chinese carbide ones pretty good, not that I have any proper machine to use them in, I used free hand and in the lathe for marking bars.The cutters are 3.17mm by minimum 10cm, if I remember. Although I have some steel rod I could turn then mill to that size, I have no idea what kind of steel it is. I’ve also never heat treated metal before, at 3.17mm diameter, would that be a problem heat treating?
Another question, what does STC21 mean in relevance to carbide cutter.
Thanks, but unfortunately the machine uses 10-11mm length cutters.
