We had talked HERE about relatively cheap combination grinders from the Far East,
that are brought among the people in various guises and names.

HERE I had found the Scheppach variation on the theme in "new, with blemishes" for the reduced price of €84.90.

I was already ready to order there, was just looking for a technical specification that was not given in the offer on eBay.de and searched for it on the page of the "manufacturer" Scheppach ....

... and lo and behold, at Scheppach I found ....

... as "B-Goods/Refurbished" for only €74.90 with shipping


Today I acquired it, vulgo: it arrived

On the outer packaging was only noticeable that all edges were re-taped with very strong transparent tape, nothing else.

Now it was of course exciting to discover what was wrong with this specimen when the importer sold it so far below its own list price to the public ....

The plastic packaging inside is just as you would expect from this type of shipment, nothing appears to have been repackaged.

All parts are present.

Scheppach has removed any reference to the origin of the machine!

You just have to like them, these Chinese with their obsession for detail - see 0-marking :

Someone suggested Velcro connections for the sanding disc - it's already like that with me.

I ended up not figuring out why this one fell under this special price and they continue to offer some.

Currently we have two working hypotheses:

- A major buyer went broke or for some other reason didn't pay their bills to Scheppach, they took the stuff back and only checked for fullness, not condition;

- I know that major customers of Chinese manufacturers often take out and open only two to five boxes per sea container - if these are not in accordance with the contract, the entire container goes back on the ship and to China - this threat is said to have caused pure miracles with the suppliers .... however, I would then have expected that the individual parts would also have been unpacked, which apparently did not happen here ...;




Question to those who also have a machine of such similar type:
Is your sanding belt also always wobbling from side to side when running???

And then came some brass material for making ferrule for handles of hand tools.

The man in the warehouse will have puked with annoyance at this many small blanks to cut and label ...

... the dealer offers it this way and I wanted to be able to try something around - well, tough luck mate.

That was a good find for the price! My version didn't have a Velcro pad on the disk sander which is something I have been meaning to sort out as currently the disk is held on with spray adhesive
The belt on mine doesn't move about much in use just a couple of mm at most! I take it yours is under the correct tension?

Also today I acquired this!

Well pleased its a proper handy little set!

Thanks @sparkysy well I was lucky then.

It's only a few mm left and right that the belt wobbles but constatly - hmmm, belt tension .... in the end I have to read the damn manual

Yes you were lucky it must be a later model although apart from the Velcro backing it is identical to the one I have!

Lol read the instructions, that is a last resort I only do that once I have played with every nut bolt and set screw

not much luck, read it, no bloody word about belt tension, played around a bit, the wobble is ok now.

Later model, or just GER-model:
Spray adhesive for temporary fixing with removal intention is so uncommon with us, they probably would have gotten all their products back: "Zomezing is missing zhere!!!"

Ah I just had a look at my instructions and can't find mention of adjustment either. Glad you have managed to get it to stop!
Possibly a GER model yes or I got a Friday afternoon one, where they forgot to stick it on!

A bargain haul from Aldi,thanks for the announcement on here,sorry,forgot who spoke up.more
Powerful than my brushed makita,not quite as smooth running,the motor and gearbox warm very quickly,I checked the gearbox on all 4 ,yet were half full of grease but it was not deposited on the bevel gears,I’ll check again now they’ve been used,maybe needs a lube more sticky?
The switch is poor,needs an arc type movement rather than simply sliding,the disc needs spannering to tighten,rather than the usual gripping of the disc,as a couple of times the disc fell off on last second run down!

Aim Tools got some of my money for a cheapie 710mm Angry Grinder with 10 discs (fed up swapping from slitting to other discs on my leccy Makita), and a Makita rip-off Katsu 380w, single speed leccy 6mm die grinder.

Not used either yet - just plugged em in and made sure they whizz round - but the same make Katsu 3" mini-grinder/3mm die grinder I've had for a while (while deffo v cheap n cheerful) has done alright, so worth a punt.
