I've gone for Hydrofen developer, for no reason in particular.It's oddly satisfying when it works half-well.
Fwiw, I've tried all sorts of B&W developers and keep coming back to good old D-76 or ID-11.
Caffinol works quite well, too.

Just to make it more authentic, it was shot on an early 6x6 folder of around 1910-ish vintage.
Not as rough as he used to be.The sole reason for my SA visit. @The_Yellow_Ardvark will probably recognise where I am.
