went to a car boot this morning first time in about 12 months and the only thing I bought was this hammer for a £1 !
I think it's a roofers pick for holing slates ? . Thought I might grind it back a bit and use it for a chipping hammer it's a bit on the light side though .
Bit shocking (pun intended)...I guess for a lot of markets they don't have a plug fuse (unlike the UK) so sort of understand how it happens?Aye. Already replaced with a proper fuse. Didn't fancy leaving this in there.
that's me off to find some fossils thenCould be an archaeologist/geologist pick.
You’re in the right forum thenthat's me off to find some fossils then
I wonder if there's a market in the dodgy fuse links?
Maybe farmers as they seem to like a dangerous lash up

...I'm assuming the device still has an internal fuse though...but that doesn't protect the plug/cable of course and isn't UK legal as we require a plug fuse?
Nice little platePicked up a little 18x12 surface plate.
No idea what the best way to clean this is without doing more harm than good, although I've no way of telling how flat it is to begin with.
Still, I assume going at it with the DA would be a bad move!

It's a good size for me. Any smaller wpuld probably be useless to me, any bigger and it would take up too much room. This is as much as I'd want to lift on and off the bench very often. Seller had it when I went to pick up some lathe bits, couldn't say no.Nice little plate
You want a valved torch (I think they’re called). The valve is a dial on the top of the torch which you work manually as opposed to a switch in the unit.
Gas goes straight to the torch.
I had an unused one till recently and gave it away. I’m sure it wasn’t expensive.
Yes to argon and reg.
Like here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18548370...RBRY5mxSPi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY not a recommendation as I’ve never seen them. Mine was badged BOC. Got it with a welder from them.
That’ll do it.
Never seen a dual purpose one before!
I'd look for a WP9V if you haven't already ordered it. It won't make much difference, but a WP9 is smaller than a 17, it's a little bit nicer in the hand.Cheers. So just a generic unit ought be fine as a starter/learning torch? Had noticed this one on Amazon, (quite like the shaping of the handle on this one):
WP17VF TIG Welding Torch 2in1 HF Trigger Switch + Lift Scratch 10-25 4M Cable https://amzn.eu/d/6Zy7BVJ
