The first time I used one of these WEG fanless VFDs was when I placed it inside the cabinet of my wood turning lathe, I didn't want a fan dragging wood dust into it. There's not a lot of ventilation in there, I did lift the lathe off the floor a little which helped but still not ideal. So I added an aluminium plate and a heatsink and bolted it to the inside of the lathe, just in case. Since then I've done the same elsewhere in the workshop, sounds like I shouldn't have bothered, The plate and heatsink add about 20 quid to not a big deal though.
