It does put into context what superhuman athletes pro-cyclists are. Pound-for-pound they are the fittest humans on the planet who are able to deal with self-inflicted pain and suffering us mere mortals can't even imagine.Today I acquired a pair of carbon fibre crank arms, saving a whopping 67 grams over my old aluminium ones!

Which, for the uninitiated, is a power meter. It measures cadence and torque to calculate power, to monitor exactly how many watts you're putting out. It's probably the only bike upgrade that can actually make you faster. I've wanted one for years.
Unfortunately I don't think my watch (Garmin Forerunner 245) will pair to it, so I might have to upgrade that next.
I know I'm teaching grandmother to suck eggs but if you're using it for training, you need to see the power output in real-time i.e. a watch won't cut it anyway. I've got an Edge 830 and a Quarq spider ...brilliant bits of kit.
