Here is the vice i acquired last week from my local scrap yard, had it in a Jeffrey dahmer bath for 2 days with 24V running through it...I don't like freshly painted vices as they lose there soul so always strip and clean/oil but keep them used looking.

Today I acquired a few bits from the Pobjoy Mint auction.

The yellow pallet stacker is mine which I took with me because as usual, the auctioneers do not do any loading

Let's start with the smaller stuff.

A small chuck

An even smaller chuck

A few drill bits

Some taps

Some dies and a few more drill bits

An incomplete transfer punch set

Finally some counterbore bits and I think the others are countersink bits?
Most likely NOT the sizes I require

A few centre drill bits.

Some weird stuff I don't know

I will have to make another post because there are more!

The big thing with the angled hole is a "zero flute" countersink, the rest are corner rounding endmills, inverted dovetail cutters and woodruff cutters. The "Weird stuff" are boring heads and fly cutters, the bin of brazed carbide tooling with them are boring bars and should be used where some eejit has stuck and endmill in one of them.

Looks like a decent haul, I wonder what the baize lined chuck was used for.

After spending near £70 on my Rapidmetals discs so I can try to build a big fly cutter, I got this nice chunk of metal on the auction.

Maybe I will make two fly cutters

There was also this unknown disc with holders. It is made out of aluminium.

A few lathe tool holders, boring bars and two knurling tools. Some are knackered.

Also a few carbide inserts

I like how this was packaged, it gives you some spare screws, cuttings speeds and tool to tighten the screws.

I only got 1 insert and a screw

Some big boy inserts

I also now have a 2 meter opening vice

It can also be a 2 mm opening vice

Some slitting discs/horizontal milling bits

Even a random coin in between all of it

I will have to make another post

A few air tools. Condition unknown.

A Roebuck grinder 0.9kw

A machine vice, my first machine vice that I own that does NOT have drill/mill errors on the body of the vice.
It is a hefty thing, weighing ~50kg. Slight damage to the top of one jaw.

Finally a 'few' milling bits.

It is an overwhelming amount of milling bits, it will take me days to try and sort them all out. Most of the ones I laid out on the table are new.
There are also a few damaged bits in the lot.

Cutters will soon be scrap if stored in a bucket like that pic above. Best to store them in the plastics or dip in this sort of stuff

I think all the milling bits that were in the factory just got dumped in that crate/container for the auction.

I will sort them out and then store the ones I want to keep properly.

My first red Numatic.



The others, (George, Horace & Eric), have been worth their weight in gold, in helping to clean up all the dust & debris from opening up this fireplace, so decided to add a red Henry to the collection too.

My blue wet & dry Numatic is supposedly a Henry too, (I call him Horace, for as far as I'm concerned, only red equals Henry). Yes, I know I'm a saddo, before anyone mentions.

It arrived home today,my mother took it and thrown out of home because she's against those things.
Have to convince her ....
Angled for grip despite what I've always thought is very ergonomic love it .
It came with a G&G 300bb magazine.

Anyway I've seen someone who bought a Stihl here recently...
Well I did too ,60 Euros for an almost complete MS192T waiting for it to arrive home

I've already convinced her.
I've explained that I'll keep it in a hard case with locks , trigger lock, safety, with the receivers split a part,no mags ,no battery.
It's over kill for an Airsoft gun, but I've always threated them as real guns , it's not a gun but not even a toy.
That's because there are children at home,last thing I want is them loosing an eye

Exactly. They are tools, not ornaments. Tools look so much better showing their age and life. They don't need to look as though they've just come out of the container from China in a too thick coat of paint.

I'd make exception if they need repairs, welding etc and painting makes sense.

Today I acquired a bit of Red , a hefty little beast .

best price was powertoolmate . with a make your own kit , got the 5.0 high out put battery was on offer boot ,extension a 2.5 red battery and a second charger . Chargers are £12.50 at the minute . but for some reason the 2,5 batt and charger have been sent separately oh and a set of 1/4" dr deep impact sockets . Iv'e already a couple of 4.0 copy batteries for the die grinder and polisher and theyv'e been ok so far .been impressed with die grinder so I thought why not spoil your self
