I used to know the name, which now escapes me, as I went through a phase of trying to track one down but they were always sold or too expensive.
Not used one but they looked a very useful bit of kit for holding odd shapes.

There's one at my boat club used with the drill press, it's about 30kg and ~6" jaws... Been drilled to f*** over the years but still works wonderfully for odd pieces or parts with steps in them

In my search for a tapping collet set I found an individual GT24-JIS-M16 item. The only JIS tap I have is a china special which may not be up to powered use however will be interesting to try, I will set the clutch low!
The better M16 is a sloppy fit but may be able to turn a spacer tube and shim the square drive.

Most of my taps are Swisstech and DIN standard, so likely I will want a DIN set for M3-M12.

I did not realise how bloody huge these GT24 type would be.

I've picked up (well the OH did) 3 pairs of the work trousers as well.
I've used them for years & years - practically live in them.
I personally think the earlier ones were better, but they are still very good

reduced in Axminster to £35 good or bad I don't know I suppose I'll have to learn to grind HSS too now .

90 percent of my work i use hss tools. sharpened properly they last years and machine well
