There's been a little voice in my head for ages telling me I need an Ugga Dugga gun. All I have atm is an impact screwdriver (which is brilliant, but of course can't hack wheelnuts etc).
No idea which one to get, & which ones are any good for the money though (& while I know of stuff like Milwaukee Fuel etc, I cannot run to that sort of money or have enough work to justify one.... but if I got one I'd want it to have enough spuds for my van wheelnuts & ideally the occasional horrible job that might occur like say a crank pulley bolt.
It'd be interesting to find out how you rate that Sealey. (I'm off to see how much the things are now!)
I'm aware of their strong reputation - but they are a lot of money for my occasional personal use.
If I was earning money with them daily - I'd have a different view.

Well for example the high torque I bought used like new from a local business advertising it on Facebook. £140 it came with original case 2 batteries and fast charger. So it doesn't have to be a £450 dealer job if you take your time and snap up a local deal as soon as it appears.
I use mine for personal use. Worth every penny.

Fuel tools are never worth to repair
The motor is sold as a single unit
You have to buy the complete stator and rotor ,wirings , switch PCB and battery interface all as one single component .
Your tool is 300 brand new? You easily have to pay 230 if one of the upmentioned components fails .
So not worth fixing.
Great tools off course but never worth to repair .
At least cordless tools

Rear bering £25. Easy repair.
They don't really go wrong that is after years of use the bearings start to go.

That's the one ! Chunky things, and very well made.
Interesting. I discounted Clarke as I bought one if their 240v Ugga's several years ago, which turned out to be very weak / poor & a waste of time & money.
It couldn't undo the 17mm head wheelnuts on the OH's diddy Kia, let alone the 27mm ones on my then van - it's now taking up space on a shelf when it should be in the skip.
(A cheapo Torque Multiplier replaced it which actually works well - but of course isn't exactly versatile).

If you are always operating from a workshop (or convenient access to 220V), and are not likely to use it often - I would recommend not looking at a rechargeable unit - you'll save a load of money. I have a MOSS 1000W 450Nm 220V unit - it does everything I have every wanted it to do - biggest cars I work on are Range Rovers.

They still state they’re an authorised dealer for Milwaukee. Just be careful with Screwfix as they have a lot of old models, especially in kits, and usually bit that much cheaper even when on offer than the latest models from places like PowerToolMate

I have the CP400Li version of that gun and I'm pretty unimpressed with it.
It doesn't have to cajhonas to shift a wheel nut on a Fiat 500 unless it's just been fitted and torqued up correctly, anything National Tyres have been near and it won't stand a chance, and recently it's stopped working unless you wiggle the battery about. It's had very little use in three years I've had it.
There is an awful lot of pricey rubbish out there sadly, so far I've not had one that's impressed me much, we'll see if the Sealey suprises me...

agree with that bought a mid torque ,new , use perhaps every other week , the amount of back ache it saves wish I had spent the monies years ago .

As said up above if an electric component fails , it's not worth fixing.
Unfortunately it happens so often .
I seek for good quality tools sold as spare and repair.
I never take in consideration Milwaukee for this reason.
There is a misconception that broken tools are worth something, and indeed they are.
But not a lot.
I often see auctions where they sell a bunch of junk they start offering well over the value.
If you have money a storage you could get a bunch of known brand tools and dismantle for parts, put together one or two working tools, sell the remaining spares.
In reality you have to get a profit on the working tools, spares ok you might be able to sell something but you have to be lucky to find first of all good components, and those are usually the parts which don't fail.
So you guessed no one needs them and you are not able to make a profit on them .
Waste of time .
I've just seen a little Milwaukee hammer .
They are selling it for 50 euros as not working , 30 euro shipping .
Now I can take the risk but honestly.
It's 400 euro brand new, you are not able to sell it at more than 120-150 euro .
You can make a profit only if it's a broken power cord or carbon brushes.
If it's a PCB , if it's the stator, if it's the rotor or worst if its a mechanical fault .
You wasted 80 euro .
Hilti they are a different world , they are expensive even if broken , if you're lucky to find a cheap one you might be able to sell parts
But again the good components that you find are usually not wanted.
If you get them free or almost free you can, otherwise not.
I've once bought a Fein wsg17-125p
20 euro, 25 shipping, dismantled found a broken bearing ,15 euro bearing , it's still kinda worth but we are on the limit ,70 euro is what you can get for it as it's sold for 160 euro on amazon .
But it's not happening because to replace the faulty bearings you have to destroy the pinion gear (heat shrink and press fit on the armature)
Well I wasn't aware I could get it new for that cheap I bought the pinion and the bevel gears for it we added othe 50 euro on it .
We are at 120 euro...
Is it worth wasting time with it ? Considering that I cannot sell it so I have to keep it and for this reason I have to replace all the bearings (20 euro so 140 euros )
Thrust me there is a reason why Makita are so popular on the used market (cheap to repair whatever what's broken)
Anything else if you're not lucky not worth wasting time and money on them
