I thought to ask thisAre you sure they are genuine?
Plastic bag is ok.I hope they are they came from Thomas grahams but I did notice my last set never came in a plastic bag like that wondering if it’s new packaging
Definitely genuine then didn’t think it wasn’t with where I bought it from anywayI thought to ask this
Plastic bag is ok.
Genuine one have very distinctive features.
For example they have an SR type battery Which is never installed.
Fake one have two CR type ones, one of which is installed and the other one inside a little blister which says SR44 but most of the time you're able to see the positive face of the battery with CR something written on .
The documents have a real pen scribed sign by the guy who did the quantity test.
And the cardboard box that contains the plastic case has no pictures of the caliper or whatever else.
Just Mitutoyo (the stripes on the upper left are parallel to the "y" longer leg and the "M" ), DIGIMATIC.
Now I can't remember exactly but the stripes should be grey and not black
Now I've got a fake one off eBay, they are not that bad just not worth to buy as you can get the genuine one fairly cheap from Mitutoyo website.
Last time I've checked the 150mm black digimatic was around 100 euro.
Coolant proof ones are a lot more expensive and I'm not aware about them being counterfeit
Thomas Grahams it'll be genuine.Definitely genuine then didn’t think it wasn’t with where I bought it from anyway
That’s what I thought as well my last one was wrapped in the brown anti rust paper stuff I just assumed it was cost cutting putting it in a bag with a little bit of the paperThomas Grahams it'll be genuine.
I saw the plastic bag and thought my last one didn't come like that
Today I acquired some lube, 45 hydraulic, UTO and some chain oil.
I got an identical breaker bar off Temu ( I know..) sent by sea freight it took a while to arrive, but looks reasonable for a similar price. If it needs more power, I do have a 1m long 3/4" bar, which cost 20x as much. For everything else, there is the oxy cutter.I've discovered that I've been not buying tools in a too long time, so...View attachment 473000
Got 2 krino dies for cheap
1/2" and 3/4" NPT, 10 euro roughly each of them.
Then while scrolling on ebay, I came across this nice 600mm long 1/2" breaker bar for less than 10 euro as it was the last one of its batch
Couldn't leave it there.View attachment 473001
Do you know why they are called breaker bars .. they break at then knuckle at the first bit of decent pressure . proper name is a " Swingle bar " or nut spinnerI got an identical breaker bar off Temu ( I know..) sent by sea freight it took a while to arrive, but looks reasonable for a similar price. I got myself a new toolbox /tool chest from Costco. It is a 'Kirkland Signature 42" (106cm) RedLine 16-Drawer Garage Tool Chest'.
It was hernia-inducing getting it on the truck by myself.

This is where it will live, next to the lathe, close to the mill.

The toolbox is going to keep all my mill, drill and lathe tools.
I have thrown a few things in, but plenty of work still needs to be done.
