Stihl km85 not working, seller states good compression, spark but not running.
Got it for right about 100 euro + shipping.
Worst case scenario it would need diaphragms.
Got a proposal for a km100 but it's a 4mix, more things that might go wrong less aftermarket parts available despite more recent design, overall more expensive to repair even if could have been just needing valve adjustment not worth the risk for the price.
So ended up for the 2 strokes for Wich I can get a top end kit if it's shot or if will die later.
Motor only but it's a good starting point to free myself from cheap Chinese garden equipment.
It'll be in good company with the MS361, MS192T, the Active 62-62 and the little Jonsered 2036 (2040 ported)

Be careful of the Stihl rabbit hole

It will pull you in and you may never return!

Some great stuff though. I love my more recent purchase BR800 blower. Amazing bit of kit. I can dry a car with it in about 30 seconds. Yes I get strange looks from my neighbours

I have to stop looking at auctions. Too addictive.

I won a pallet with steel shafts (64×) +/- 40mm x 560mm at scrap price.
Apparently front hinge pins for the lift arms of a small wheelloader. I was hoping those would be some alloy steel, but it's S355.
Stiil, plenty of steel to turn into stuff(and swarf) now for very little money.

4 height gauges which came as 1 lot. One is a Mitutoyo 514-102 and that's the one I was aiming for.
The other 3 are a German brand. MIB T120 which according to a google search are relatively cheap.
The Mitutoyo is in perfect shape and probably belonged to the workshop head honcho.
The 3 cheap ones are used and abused.

Two other lots that nobody else bid on so I got them for silly little money.
A box with welding gloves and some leather aprons and 3 squares and 2 flange squares.

Bought a Japanese saw at the woodworking show at Harrogate a few weeks ago but used it today for the first time and I'm genuinely amazed by how easy it is to use.





In fact it's so easier and more efficient to use that I can see me replacing all my "conventional" saws with these when the time comes.
