Anyway guys. I don't hoard...I gather...And rescue stuff from the scrap yard. I look at it that vintage machinery is a part of history that today's generation will not or never appreciate .

Not sure of the grade Richie but it turns and welds with no issues, I am forever knocking up mandrels, drifts and bushing tools with it.

Todays aquirings 6 aliminum and wooden swords, (£2 each) a very well made monks costume, 2 cloaks of decent wool (£5 each) a gladstone bag (£15) 2 pith helmets and a boweler hat, (£2 each) and a flight helmet and a pair of flying goggles (again £2 each) ...

a bit of an odd mixt but the monks costume would have been over £100 orignially, and the swords are well made and very nice, with a bit of work they will be put in to the amateur dramatics prop kit, along with the gladstone bag. The flying hat and the goggles along with the pith helmets will be used for a post appocalyptic event that I have been asked to make some props and costumes for.... all in all a good little bag

This morning I was enjoying a coffee and chatting to a neighbour, she mentioned that her friend was clearing her garden and had a shed what was due to be skipped.

"Do we want if for Men In Shed" was asked.
Silly question.
Few phone calls and a team was assembled, not the A team nor the Avengers, but a motley crew.

We dismantled it, cleaned it and shifted it.
No images of the taking to bits, but time was short and we only had access to a tractor and trailer for a limited time.


12 by 8 shed, with a decent lock. It needs a few small repairs and some new felt on the roof. But it will do a turn.


I also got my dirty m ts on this as well.



Metal potting/ workshop stowage bench in ally, some wood and a blue thing. looks like a garden table in bits. Well not the blue thing. What's in the blue thing.



And a coil garden hose.

That's what I used to tell myself too. The problem being, you eventually realise you'll never use, or even restore, a notable portion of the stuff you collect. That's another one of the reasons I'm currently trying to trim my collection. It's easier to refuse beforehand, than part with something you already own later down the line.

I enjoy collecting old stuff. I been after a camel back drill for ages. It's being in the right place at the right time. The place I went to today the chap had massive engine lathes.
I never seen machinery so big.

There's some truly impressive old kit still knocking about out there, isn't there. I know what you mean. You see the stuff, and the quality, workmanship, design etc. of the old kit is like a Siren's song.
