Do you have a good recipe for sloe gin?

Load of Sloes, 3.6 KG one of the lads has just pointed out that they are £15 a KG on Flea bay!!! Dont tell winchboy or he will be doing a night shift in the woods picking them!
That about £50 quids worth!

Spotted this sharpening stone in City Electrial today at a discount price of £18.50 so thought I'd better pick it up.

Nice and heavy and a decent size to sharpen my dad's old chistles on.

There's no plug on it.

I have 1 pint jars as they where cheap! So just worked out the ratios from an online recipe this is what I did
200g sloes ( Freeze the sloes over night to rupture the skin)
100g sugar
about 440ml gin to fill up to 1" below lid.
If its not sweet enough its easy to add sugar later when its ready to drink, you need to make it now then it will be ready for Christmas.
Some of my jars are leaking so I am off to Ikea later as they do a 2l clip top for £3 and they also sell seals £1.50 for 4. Sainsburys have Kilner jars on offer but the nearest one is miles away and I cant just ring up and check stock, I can at Ikea takes 5 seconds on line.
I have done 1 pint using soft dark brown sugar just to see how it comes out.
Also made some Sloe vodka.
When you sieve and filter it keep the sloes and make sloe port, should be nice with Cheese.

There is an empty hole on the front where, I assume one would fill it with oil.

Belt sander and a cheap wheeled guide for me.
These serve me well out and about. Mines been going for years.

We kept it out in the utility room so was unheated, natural light but out of sun light.
