I know a guy that used to build the stand up and just lifted the mixer onto the stand, he was a big lad though.

He's probably got a knackered upper & lower spine like me & thousands of others who did silly tricks like that … " I'm not very bright , but I can lift heavy things " .

I'd like to apologise for all the typos in my last few posts . The spinal problems kicked off big time Friday after lifting 25 off 6x4 foot lap fence panels with my lass on

Last night I was in pain / discomfort top gear & overdrive . , just couldn't focus or recognise the horrendous spellings with an extra couple of doses of pain meds in me .

Had a proper duvet day today .. things are easier right now .

The mounting lugs are for just that - mounting. You can mount a row of them, I’ve seen six working together to glue a bench top in a glue-up operation.

Yup. Makes positioning easier.

Have some nice cramps that fit to sized timber as well as the above. Must get around to making some nice long bars for them

At the college we had the newer Record ones, a good 1.8m length on them, and four of the proper old heavyweight Record ones which only hold about a metre at best. I dropped a painting and totally munted the corner, one of them bailed me out big time! Only if you knew you’d know... most people thought I wasn’t showing the damaged painting as they couldn’t spot it

It's a cost/benefit analysis where I have to weigh up getting things done verses another project on my every expanding list.

I also don't think I could make them for £15 or less when you factor in the time required.

Some bits from a demo job.
British made mastic gun, bolsters, a tiny claw hammer amoungst other things and a brand new in packaging level, it looks like it's for drainage as it's got two bubbles for different gradients!

Dial test indicator, used, been wanting one for a while. Have a cheap chinese one but it's a POS.

Yeah, I know the principle, it's just that this one seems to weigh a lot more than the other one. I suspect there is something going on with the frame as it has little to no ground clearance when trying to wheel it about, and it sits back quite a lot. Will be giving it a good looking at before hoying it up on the stand.

There was something going on with the frame, the bar across the front was bent about 4 inches from where it should be so when on the stand it wouldnt move enough to ge the mix out, so I've swapped the motors and gearbox over onto the other one and put the drum with the broken paddle on the 'to be mended' pile and the bent frame is on the scrap pile.

They are massive. My Woden 190/8 has 5.25” jaws and weighs 30kg, and is still dwarfed by the 25! This was at uni when I’d just finished sandblasting and brushing it, got no time for doing it by hand (now I’ve left uni I miss that blasting cabinet!)

nice vice I have one similar same size . it has quick release very handy . I have a 6inch record one brand new as well but don't see any point in changing it as the jaws aren't hardly worn

got a vice now thats got a quick release got offered a bit bigger one but did not want it as its not got one the one i gots already more than i need but get a bigger vice with the release i might want it

Not so much 'acquired', as received. A full discharge from the hospital Ophthalmology Consultant, doesn't need to see me again. Plus, I can discontinue the drops I've been putting in my 'compromised' eye for years.

some things that are to with threads, one of my old boy customers popped them in passing, he has had them in the barn for years, dont know yet if there any use will give them a soak in red for a day or so, only cost me a bit of time chatting a coffee and a couple chocolate digestives. dont you just love life.
