Looks to be in good condition.

You may find the 2 jaws to be soft metal and may have a few burrs. They will dress out and you will have a nice bit of kit.

Another addition to my little studio.
Bargain price new and couldn't refuse.
It turned out to be impossible to use my launchpad to control the step sequencer.
(Because of this controller I suspect)

Works very well and has a lot of control of the DAW itself without using the mouse.

The Record 6VS has 6" jaws with a 6" opening, one swivel bolt missing though

All in reallt good condition, marks to the jaws, but that's about it.

Found a new place for me to rummage.

The shop is a odd mix of old. modern and wood furniture made from reclaimed wood.



Charcoal iron.
Heavy bit of kit. It was seized.

Oh dear.

They can be found on line, difficult.
You can buy a selection box of springs, waste full.

I have acquired a few of those egg beater drills & they all seem to have spring problems. Where do you source yours?

The small compression springs?
I have found a cheep tool shop what does the kits off assorted odd springs. I find they will have suitable ones what can be used. Even if you have to cut them down.

The bent wires ones, harder. But I liberated some spring steel wire. I have used that to bend the springs. But with out a pattern that is difficult(BIG understatement).

The should be long enough so when the jaws are assembled, the top cone slips down 2/3 of their height. But with out compressing the springs.
But short enough that they allow the jaws to be pushed fully closed, with out binding the jaws.

I took a punt on an item I saw in a catagory unrelated to the "vice" listings on ebay. For all practical purpose its identical to the power arm base on my Wilton baby bullet vise. The red label on it says Spenklin Mini Clamp", and says manufactured in the UK by "All Precision Engineering Ltd. in Horsham Sussex. It has both British and American patent numbers, so most likely was used by Wilton. The base came with a "Sheetog" adjustable parrallel jaw locking plier, which is very nice indeed. Here are several photos.

Also today, arrived a new old stock (Swiss) Compac dial indicator, from another lucky ebay purchase.

I've had the 2" Wilton for decades, never realized they would become a cult classic.

I could see it being a good accessory for Tig welding.
I posted the name of the articulated base and vice grip type clamp in case others would be interested in looking for them. The Spenklin base unit is one of those items which appears to be under the radar at the moment. The Wilton ones go for ridiculous prices, and there's no real difference.

Mike , are you going to chop the power points in whilst it's empty ?
What are you going to put to the rear of the stove to stop it burning the wooden skirting boards ? I ask because if it is anything like our old multi fuel burner it will get very hot indeed especially when there is a good blow on outside and the air pressure inside the house rises & drops across the top of the chimney causing the fire to draw like mad .

All being well, tomorrow will see the ghastly red tool holder removed and replaced with a bespoke wooden one, and the benches topped with hardboard. Then it’s roll on the weekend, Weardale Agricultural Show on Saturday followed by Wolsingham Show on Sunday, and OH says I can have a dirty burger and an ice cream, and have one whole pound to spend .

May I suggest you take your sub aqua gear with you ..it's going to be rather wet where you are by the look of the weather forecast
