Was showing little grandson how people drilled with no electrical power. My dad had one of these , wife's dad in his late eighties still has one ( everyone's dad had one)

Here's the problem TYA ; no springs and they are too large to screw down fully.

How about seeing if you can use the thin end ball point pen refill springs , such as a shaped Parker pen refill spring ( there are others around that are much cheaper) snipped down comes to mind ? They are a lot less in diameter spring than a standard refill that has wings on the sides .

Why not make your own ? Weld a set of 6 or 8 inch mole grips to at the rear third along their length use some gouged tube out to make a locating saddle such as thick wall 35 mm OD of pipe and mount the pipe vertically on a quick release mag base . Putting the grips unlocking lever upper most

I found a big flowing web behind a tub underneath my bench grinder with two very big holes in it that usually indicate a big spider. Careful removal revealed two large beasties like yours sharing the web, I think they were male & female as they cowered in a corner together. I've not seen that before nor two big web hole close together.

After scrolling aimlessly through facebook marketplace while watching tv I found an early 2000s Monty trails bike.

Tidy are the forks stock. They look odd.
Can't remember what model Monty I owned.

Mine didn't come with a seat mind.
