your lovely dolmar is an old school saw, no chain brake and no AV mounts, great as an orniment, or on a milling setup, but forget using it for any tree cutting, 10 mins and your fingers will start to loose there feeling plus you wont be allowed to use it in any commercial activity, it doesnt comply with PUWER requirments, enjoy it

Don't worry no commercial rules and regulations will be harmed by making good use of this saw and I'm well aware of the risks of VWF. As you've guessed it'll mostly be used milling (when I get around to making one). It's very rare we need to cut up anything needing a saw of this size but for the money asked for it I couldn't refuse having such a well functioning ornament .

It's as tall as me, 5'8"..... Oh well.

Weighs a bl***dy ton too, made from 1/4" plate and dates from 1953.

It's a Whitehead Junior Andy. Despite standing outside under a lean-to for several years the motor does still run. The bearings are a bit shot but could still do service if pushed but of course I'll have to replace them
The motor's a 1hp single phase and must weigh 50lbs.

It's an argument I constantly had with my firearms manager. He would insist I dealt with "weapons" and I would nicely explain that everything sold to the civvy world were nothing of the sort - all sporting firearms.

Picked this up off gumtree for £50 as 'broken'. Stripped the pump down, cleaned the valves and it now works a treat. Im hoping I can do wet blasting with it. 11 LPM enough??

Father in law is clearing out his storage unit and gave me this. Don't know what I'll use it for but im sure I can have a play about. Must be over 30 years old as he stopped doing body work that long ago.

A 30W LED floodlight from a skip, unsurprisingly didn't work but I did get a nice bit of plate glass from it, a cast metal junction box off the back which I'll keep for the future, and the wall bracket has been chopped up to be made into guard holders for my bench grinder. Oh, and some copper wire and some nice machine screws from it to boot. Not at all bad, even if it's not what it was built for

By definition, a weapon is something used to hurt, maim, or kill another human. Therefore all firearms used by civvy's (Airguns included) are for sporting purposes. Otherwise you wouldn't be allowed one.

Pretty much. It's like if you have a Samuri sword, or an air rifle for display inside your house or for use on private land/clubs that's fine; bring it onto the street and it becomes an offensive weapon. Everything is a tool essentially and it's up to you how you use it really but don't be a dick or you'll face the consequences

Anyway, back on topic; Today I acquired 4 drills, a screwdriver*, a polisher, a power file, a sander and a small die grinder.

One of the drills has no spring on the trigger, but there's 2 more identical drills so it doesn't matter. Jacobs chucks all around too. The bearings in the polisher feel pretty bad but I'm not likely to need it anyway. Just need a Schrader connector (Or "Type 17" if you don't like brand names - *Cough*cough*Pdg*cough*) now and I can play.

*It might be an impact driver, I'm not sure yet.

That die grinder iff not chinese muck needs to be loved and cherished..great tools and since having mine i never use my Makita the wrist snapper..

It's a Fiam, but very similar to the Desoutter. Made in Italy in 2002 and still in good nick. 70,000 RPM no load speed.

It's nice but being so small it probably won't replace my big Metabo.

Off topic again. Anything can be used as a weapon. Even a banana. However, again to answer your initial question, all firearms (inc air rifles/pistols), are not weapons but sporting implements. Unless you happen to be. Hmg/mod then they are weapons
