I can see that something like that would be overkill if you only ever expected to run a 3-phase piddly motor but if it was that small, a single-phase swap probably would be feasible. I worked on the principle that if I got other toys in the future, I'd already have the means to power them... and the spare capacity means that the inverter's barely working when running my Boxford under light load.

Went for this in the end. Partly on Geoff's recommendation, I think it is the same family of drives. Hope it is OK. Made sense to sort the issue in one go rather than get a 240 vfd (Which would have been cheaper initially but a waste in the long run) and lose the top end speed on the mill and have to get another motor at a later date to get full use.

Ha ha! Other pics show English text and the instructions show both languages when you're programming it. At least you haven't told me it's wrong for a technical reason. If it all goes sideways I'll get a 240v 3phase VFD. Won't be able to afford anything more anyway.

I just bought a DRO, Chinese seller but UK source. Could have got one from China or Hong Kong cheaper but I didn't want to wait AND suffer import.

I wonder if things will relax post-breakstit due to the extra workload they'll have sorting out the European import/export mess? Seems to me they might be too busy to check much China stuff.

The wait did cross my mind but most UK sellers are shut until 2nd January anyway and I guess it's just another work day in China. I've been caught once before with customs charges from China but most stuff has got through. I expect the box will be big enough to attract official interest this time. The equivalent item on Ebay was 30 quid more and that was certainly a China/HK seller too so I don't think I will be doing too bad even if it attracts charges.

Whisky/whiskey tastes vile.
Find a drink you like the taste of.

I prefer the blended whiskys with a shot of lemonade and ice in them. Even Coke. If I drink cheap whisky on its own the hangover is ferocious.
Otoh, the peaty malts... got plastered a few times on them straight, and much less hangover.
Irish whiskies - I can drink any of them with very few after effects. Still like the odd one with some Coke, though.

Nope, they will still check it, just you will have to wait 2 months instead of 1
