I thought I'd posted the finished mill. I'll take some tomorrow.
Holly thread resurrection. Guess I best post some pictures
I think i paid the equivalent of £900 for my T.S. universal (table swivels). Gave it a coat of paint and fitted a Bridgeport head on it, as it had very little Z-axis travel. They are a very well made machine and probably big enough for general messing about.
I got lucky, the head of the engineering/metalwork/resistive materials (or similar title) at an Essex college advertised a Tom Senior light vertical on Ebay. He spelled Tom Senior incorrectly, listed it as 3 phase when it was single, and imperial when it was metric. So it failed to sell at the reserve of 350. I missed bidding as I was on the tube so contacted him and offered 400 quid for it complete with nearly new motor. At the time, probably 4 years ago, they were selling for about 1500 quid and more on Ebay.
Not only was he thick but lazy. The corpulent soul wouldn't help me dismantle it and lift into the back of the Disco, but a guy who was just retiring at a spritely 65 came to my aid.
It needs a head rebuild, not desperately, once I get the kitchen finished, and the new ensuite, and the new porch......
You kept that quiet. I thought you had a M1
