If disconnecting them gives you a working unit, but with reduced output, then maybe the problem is one of phase. It's possible that one winding has been reversed so that it subtracts rather than adds, disconnecting it gives you two working phases. It's a difficult one to resolve at a distance.

That's what i was going through my mind.

Think if it was me i would note how wired now, completely disconnect. Then start from fresh ignoring the rest of the converter for now, investigating the relationship between winding to get the correct voltages first.

Disconnecting everything the transformer when tested with a megger tests OK. Just cannot work out where the wires go. If anyone has a transwave convertor could they take a picture for me? Mark

Finally got a wiring diagram from transwave and the bad news is its wired right so it must be the transformer but tested it and cannot find a fault.

Primary and secondary are not lopped and using a megger nothing going to earth. Driving me mad!

Hi. No traced wiring and its right. As i said before if I disconnect the wires on the right hand side to 0v its ok but reduced output so must be shorting through tranny but when using a megger everything appears ok!

Have you worked out the resistances, it will probably be part auto transformer so the resistance should get progressively higher as you work along the wingdings.
The winding ends only go into a chock block rather than a terminal strip and tags so they could of been altered or moved.

Hi @normspanners ive have trawled all the usual places and had seen that today, but cant actually find any one actually selling them, but thanks for looking for me
im going to ring them tomorrow, even RS and Farnell who stock most of their other relays dont list them, will also give Transwave a call. If anyone does have one

Just buy a voltage monitoring relay of the same spec? Doesn't need to be an exact match, maybe even ring broyce and they might give you an updated part number.

That went over my head like an F15 @daleyd I wouldnt have a clue how to or where to look lol
