When you actually get hold of one in your hand, 1/2" NRV's are fairly big.
I doubt if the supply from one 2.5hp compressor is going to be limited by a 1/2 valve.

Just to add another topic to this discussion, how would one link 3 compressors together?
For example lets say we have 3 compressors: A, B, and C. Each compressor is 10 CFM FAD and each have a 50% duty cycle.
Now lets say you are using an air tool that requires 15 CFM, you have a total of 30 CFM from the 3 compressors. Since you have twice as much air being supplied than what is required, the 50% duty cycle on each compressor will not be exceeded.
Issue is that if compressor A and B can supply 20 CFM, and the tool requires 20 CFM, the pressure will never drop when A and B are on and therefore compressor C will never switch on.
Therefore is it possible in this suitation to link 3 compressors together?

They could all be controlled by one pressure switch and operate as one big unit.
You'd probably need to use a relay as ordinary pressure switches probably couldn't cope with the current of three compressors but that's easy enough. Slightly staggered starts might be needed, depending on the supply available. Three compressors each cutting in at the exact same moment take a lot of power, but I'm sure this is also very easily sorted.

yup 2 of mine are conected with one pressure switch and run through contactors .one of them has a 4 second delay timer fitted

it would be couple all the tanks together one pressure switch and one contactor for each motor. if 3 were used u would need 2 adjustable time delay switches feeding 2 of the contactors so they all turn on at a few second intervals each i would add the 3d compressor decompressor pipe would also need plumbing in to the pressure switch

not if u only have single phase supply the max motor size would be 4hp on most comps 5hp max providing it isnt getting stopped and started

the twin pump set up only uses the one pressure switch with a timer fitted . i bought it for 60 quid and someone had chopped all the wiring out. one motor faulty and replaced and i wired it back up and it works fine i think there over a grand in machine mart
