Couple of hours beating on metal and welding, and the passenger seat/electrics box cover is done. A real finger bender would have made life easier, but a chunk of hefty angle iron and some clamps made things work. Where there's a will, there's a way. 
Of course, I cut the lid too short, so I had to weld a return on each end rather than just folding it over. But the weld went spectacularly well, so I predictably forgot to take a pic of my perfect weld runs.

Cut some more cardboard, and trimmed some aluminium today. The footboards are dropped down inside the tube frame, so when I'm pulling 6g in turns the passenger has some leverage...... 
Passenger will also get some sort of low back rest, eventually, to save chipped vertebrae.

This little chunk of engineering goodness just arrived from the US of A, a front thermostat top hose rad cap mount, so I can run a rad/bleed cap on the motor as well as the rear mounted rad. I may well run a low, or no, pressure system with an 80c thermostat just to keep pressures and temperatures down, seeing as I'll be sat legs akimbo atop the whole bolide.

Now that could be an interesting night out.
I've followed "Despo's" exploits and adventures for years, the straight 8 supercharged NSU motor, the supercharged Indian LSR racer to Bonneville trips etc. He'd be a hard act to follow.Couple of pics of todays labours. Just 3mm alloy seats pans bent and cut to fit. Knowing my propensity for errors, I cut them 1/4" oversize all around, so once the bending was done, and predictably out of alignment, I could trim them to fit.....
......and both turned out bang on perfect fit to the bases....

I broke out the tube crusher and played with the 1 1/2" alloy tube that arrived a couple of days ago. Managed to ruin one length by bending too much, but luckily i ordered 3 pieces, so now I have two that fit snugly around the various sumps, exhausts and filters etc underneath the frame. Sort of....

Why silicone, ordinary ones are cheaper and last really well if you buy a recognised brand.I need to order a bunch of 90° silicon elbows, which won't be cheap, so I'll leave it a week to spread the financial load. The 3 x 2.5m lengths of tube came to nearly a ton.
