Half the fitters are no longer British gas just contractors in disguise.

If It makes you feel any better and right on queue I've just been called out to a leaking valiant, just out of warranty leaked from the plate exchanger seals, soaked the units and half the kitchen then miraculously stopped leaking all on its own, I can see the trail of water where it's left its mark and it's trapped under the upstand for plate ex, I'm rapidly going off them.

This was the cause of the leak for anyone remotely interested.

This isn't a one off either although they say there is no design or quality issue there is something going on other than the rust.

though it does need 22mm as close as possible to be pipped in like most boilers do

When I upgraded the boiler at my last place some 15 years ago the installer guy found the pressure/flow of gas was below spec. Long story short, British Gas had to run new larger gas pipes to every house in the street, from the new mains they had installed a few years earlier.

Ours was somehow tunnelled under the block paved drive and run up the front wall of the garage, going inside at shoulder height.

Yes early ones leak for fun and spares aren't kept in most places, around here anyway.

Our Worcester Bosch must be knocking on 15 years old now and still going strong, have it serviced every year.

Chap at work has an Ideal, heat exchanger failed recently on a 4 year old boiler, not good..

vailiant turbomax 828 here and still in working condition after 25 years the last of the solid builds

last repair i just did was a new capacitor for the pump and it was back and running again

You do know British Gas guys are paid commission for up selling boilers. That to me means they are not to be trusted.

After repairing boilers that BG fitters have recommended for replacement, that became obvious to me.
