What we are trying to do is to get BOC to do a special offer for hobby welders for pure argon, they currently do an offer for hobby welders for mig welding using argoshield gas which costs £70 a year all in (rent & fill) for a year. Its called the 'volkszone' offer.
But hobby tig welders are getting more common and currently there is only the option to get a professional rental contract which cost about £150+ or so a year (depending on which size cylinder you choose).
So I am trying to get people to email my contact at BOC to get them to consider a pure argon offer about the same price as the volkszone offer.

OK an update for everyone...
I spoke again with Katie today to get an update on where we are, currently she has received 26 emails regarding the pure argon offer.
She has emailed the Market Sector Manager who is keen to see if something can be arranged for 'smaller' customers rather than companies. Katie is meeting with the Market Sector Manager soon to see if some kind of deal can be hashed out and then get it approved by one of the account managers.
Both Katie and the Market Sector Manager are keen to get something arranged but its the powers that be at the top of the tree that will have the last say on things, so fingers crossed.
For info, I have got the latest Pure Argon prices (Including VAT) from Katie :
Y Size Cylinder :
Fill Cost - £68.38
Environment Surcharge - £1.32
Rent - £9.00 (Monthly) / £100.20 (Yearly)
Pickup Charge - £15.66
W Size Cylinder :
Fill Cost - £91.73
Environment Surcharge - £1.60
Rent - £9.90 (Monthly) / £112.86 (Yearly)
Pickup Charge - £15.66

At the moment its just our forum but i mentioned earlier if member want to mention it across other forums as it cant hurt.
Katie has mentioned to the powers that be that its the mig welding forum but I am sure she will be more than happy for other forums to be made aware of the possible deal.

Just looked at the membership figures, and we have nearly 1300 ACTIVE members, I really thought we would have had quite a good response to the "Send Katie an email" request by now, I know all members do not have tig machines but getting an Argon deal for the members from BOC is a very good step forward for the forum,You never know what discount deals we can get from BOC in the future if we have a big enough voice.
