I would vee out the cracks on the other side and also braze them. Clean besides the cracks well and braze at least 1/2" wide. I don't think braze will stick to where there is nickel.
Hi Bsmith, thanks. I am planning on doing just that. I'll probably TIG braze it because I haven't tried that yet!
I have been using a GoPro Hero and a Sony camcorder thing both set to 1080P. This series of vids is a test so I can set up positions, iron out audio problems (including Heathrow!) and get my editing back to snuff.
In hindsight, I'm not sure I needed the GoPro, it doesn't have the controls I want and I'm not yet getting the video quality I'm after. Needs to be sharper and punchier imho. I may have to use a separate audio recorder.
Meantime I have been making up various mountings and tripod adapters etc. I made this one to fit a large boom area microphone stand. The bubble level is just to give me a ballpark orientation. With it, I can put the camera anywhere within an 8 foot sphere.
