Wouldn't know tbh. The very few things like that ive welded have usually been with an autogeous tack.
It would be the way I would join them. You'd barely see a tack at all.Saw someone doing similar in Macedonia once - couple of car batteries, jumper lead on each coin and touch them together on the edges. He was damned fast whipping one lead off though, bet he got a few warm fingers before he perfected it
That is a gas less Mig welder Xtra,Brilliant Chunkolini - I don't mind a few burns! Woodworking has left me many a scar - would one of these badgers be suitable - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gasless-M...917346?hash=item419e2239a2:g:NG8AAOSwwpdW2L8n

Good memory ☺I can take something apart and would have no trouble putting it together again years later ☺Unless I got alzheimer's in betweenHow on earth did you remember that thread from four years ago?
@Xtrastrongbint - welcome to the forum, love the username!
It's only illegal if you change the value of the coins supposedly, that's why you can get them machines that squash 2p's into tokens etc...I would imagine they were illegal to scrap as it would involve defacing the queens head which is illegal
just looked it up and you're right, the law was repealed in 1981. it was one of those laws I knew existed but never had a reason to check it was still validIt's only illegal if you change the value of the coins supposedly, that's why you can get them machines that squash 2p's into tokens etc...
Also you could look at mig brazing, it's not much talked about and is quite expensive but definitely something to consider, I've never tried it myself but have herd that newer cars have this done as the floors are forever getting thinner.
Hi - I've always been interested in making sculptures out of various items and theres a fab guy who makes spheres out of coins and stuff

What lovely little round tacks on the petals.Did this one a few days ago
Yes mig sticking the coin together was the easy bit the stem/stalk was the hardest due to getting enough heat in the coin to stick without burning it to dustWhat lovely little round tacks on the petals.
They set it off nice. Mig I assume.
