It was generous of you to offer and it is just a case of we got sorted a bit quicker that’s all. I’ll receive the m14 tap and plug this week so it’s all good my end to get it finished.

Collected from Richard on Friday and nice to see you again pal.

I should of taken more pictures but reassembled the engine yesterday and this evening and it took approximately 5 hours total.

Took my time to gently shave off old gasket material, torque everything to spec and ensure things worked as intended as I went along.

Whoever came up with the design of the constant mesh sequential gear box was genius, but what a pig this part is to set in place. If you are not familiar it has tiny 4mm springs and metal dowls to push out those lugs which fire across the garage if you let go attempting to put the other side in.

Engine mounted in place now. I should be ready to kick her over tomorrow

Didn’t get a chance yesterday to have a play as my friends shower isolator caught fire so I went to sort that out for him.

Always a relief when they fire up.
Put some boots on though. Seen some properly nasty injuries from kick start levers over the years when they kick back.

My husaberg 501 gave me the best bruise I’ve ever had on my foot via the kickstart

Perfect mate thank you. I need to get some copper washers for the oil change. Stuck the previous stuff back in as it only had a couple of hours use.

I know Ali is soft but the the crankcase bolts all require 10 nm on m6 bolts with about 20mm of threads. That feels quite tight actually.
I’ve not even torqued that though, I’ve just gone hand tight and a fraction of a turn with a spanner.

Cheers, will do. It’s never kicked back thankfully but generally I’m pretty smart with my safety wear. I’d spent another 3 hours on it tonight in my work kit and I was keen to check it ran.

At the end of the day mate what is the worst that can happen by not going tight enough? It weeps a bit and you give it a little nip more. Go too tight and it can be a disaster so you’ve done the right thing. Play on the side of caution and just a little nip. It takes no effort to strip an aluminium thread.

Chap I rode trials with always struggled to start his 300 2t gas gas. Slipped and kicked In trainers and impaled his calf. Worn boots even when testing at home since that day.

You gonna take it to track days.
Would love am old cr but don't have to bottle for tracks anymore. Happier splatting a 6ft log than a tabletop these days.

I’ve been to whadon near MK/ stoney Stratford before but I’m still pretty new to it. I think I’m getting the most out of it but reviewing headcam videos of me on it I’m hardly on the power band at all. Need to be more fearless but I work for myself so have a lot to lose.

I’m doing my direct access currently and hoping to get a road legal 250 exc sometime this year. I did my cbt last Saturday which was a good experience.

Didn't realise you were a local. When I get a new trials bike later this year your welcome to come have a play boss. I Want an old ty250 or a fantic to restore.
Costs me 28 quid a year for anytime access to a private practice ground. Dirt cheap in comparison to mx

I point blank refuse to ride bikes on the road. Don't trust myself or others lol.

Need someone to chase to increase your confidence. Riding with mates better than you is the fastest way to improve. Healthy competition and **** taking helps a lot.
