That doesnt surprise me at all. But I do find it quite sad, in the past annoying and worrying for the future, that industry relies so much on this multi choice, tick box, money making competency to replace traditional apprenticeships and work place training.

I remember one case in particular changing compressor seals was stopped as we hadnt attended the supplying companies speacilist training. Vendors man duly turned up after 2 weeks to do the job. The boss said to me, how do you two know each other. I replied, he was my apprentice but got sacked for being dangerous!

So its true what they say, a ships crew is only any good if its made up of butchers, bakers and basket makers
