Trousers without holes now as I dont like sunburnt knees, I do a have a leather apron for using the grinder and petrol saw now as I set my overalls on fire last time.

I'm just a hobbyist but I wear full nomex coveralls when I'm welding, the gloves and the mask.

For the same reason that if I get on a motorbike during the summer I still put leathers on - you may get sweaty but a) the alternative is worse and b) it encourages you to go faster
