The latest round of various seasonable flu is up on us according to several MSN posted news sources .
5 million doses of vaccine have been ordered by the UK government & it's made int he UK

All picked out the same bucket of MSN's constantly regurgitated rubbish )

The 5 million doses is for Bird Flu (H5) vaccine, which they've stockpiled for quite a few years now.
I used to be on the priority list for it, but no longer qualify as the parents gave up hens/egg production a couple years ago.

I do still get occasional updates from a Government vet advisor, and he's somewhat critical over the UK and Scottish Governments approaches to it.

Common or garden bleach is sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide, which has bleaching properties, but not really bleach, although it is referred to as non-chlorine bleach. Having said that, the Wikipedia entry for bleach includes H2O2, so what do I know!! ;-) What I do know is that confusing NaOCl with H2O2 could have potentially fatal consequences.

You definitely do not want to confuse hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) with common bleach!

H2O2 isn't nice stuff either. Read up on high test peroxide, as used in rocket motors.

You’re right, it can be nasty stuff. Ten(ish) years ago you could buy it on Amazon at 30% solution but not any more. I buy it at 3% solution but it still needs to be treated as a strong chemical and used with care.

I remember the screaming rabid gutter press headlines, some 15+ years ago:
“AVIAN BIRD FLU, 20 MILLION BRITS COULD DIE”

Not that they were trying to scare anybody, of course, or panic people into buying their news rag……

I thought most birds are ‘avian’ actually.

Swine flu was also a potential issue before Avian flu, but that was well contained.
One of my former colleague's wife got Swine Flu. She ended up on an Ecmo machine in Birmingham IIRC (it was the nearest available), and although she made a full recovery, she was diagnosed with cancer a year or two later, and died within weeks of getting the diagnosis. He always wondered whether the swine flu or treatment triggered the cancer.

When you are in your mid 60,s and crippled with job induced injury's, with looks that could not even pull the most desperate crack head prostitute for a 2 minute shuffle behind the wall. Gladly you are blessed with knowledge and a tad of "over the top of your glasses wisdom" that reminds you that ANYTHING the a governing body or politician tells you that its something that you need or will help you improve your life then its a load of tosh!!. This is why i don't do Flu jabs every winter and every other medication that follows "we are here to help". Anyone who has another view of this then you have my blessing and i wont try convince you otherwise, Horses for courses and all that.
