Not really welding but made up a corner repair piece today with just a pressbrake to bump the radius round - radius alters as it comes round so not straight forward. Machine is a bit on the big side for doing stuff like this but it managed.

Nice job, pressbrake is ideal for jobs like these, I could have made them in the flypress but would probably end up with a right arm bigger than popeyes.

Another Cooler knocked out. Was for a customer but got let down at weekend typically. Getting pretty quick at knocking these out

I feel for you, my mother in law has a Stanley wood fired cooker and the boiler developed a leak. I opted to weld up the hole in situ, took the top of the range off and after draining down the system and cleaning it up as best I could I welded it up. The heat from the weld burned the tar coating the boiler and filled the kitchen with acrid fumes. I stank for days after even though I showered numerous times.

Thanks for the link, they are very keen pricewise - the steel baffle is £37+vat, I was quoted £65 from a local parts guy! The only problem is the carriage over to here which kills any savings.

Done a few days back. A bit of strange one, never imagined the jolly fat chap would trust me with his pride and joy!

Aluminium sleigh came in damaged to us at work so it was shipped over to my place for a few repairs before it was sent on site. One of the skids had bent and snapped in transit and was made of paper thin ally, so it was tigged back together and reenforced with some 30x30x3 box to make a sleeve.
A few decorative scrolls had also been snapped off so stuck them back on while I was at it.. Wish I'd taken some more pics but it was a bit of a panic job as it had to be in Dublin the next day, it's currently hanging in the centre of the ice rink in Blanchardstown in Dublin!

First proper ally job also with my new Parweld AC/DC and I was impressed with it!

I made a set of adaptors that make it easier to use a g clamp on round objects.

They are made from 40x40x5 angle & 40x5 flat welded together.

I clamped them up in the vice, tacked them & then welded the joint vertically up.

Welds turned out ok.

I thought the weld would pull the flat into a hump but they stayed fairly flat!

Adapters in action, very useful item to have.

Something a bit different for me today ( I have a small Clarke, and normally use it for car repairs )

One of the screen hinges on my oversized laptop snapped a few days ago.
The rivits holding the pieces together had snapped and were soon mig'd back together.
When I checked the result I found the rivits on a nearby joint were also loose - so they got mig'd before they snapped.

I've used the mig for small repairs before but this is the first time I've used it on a laptop
