can you not use some sort of bin bag or something as a liner to give the repair a fighting chance. remove the valve, put bin bag in water butt, pierce hole and reinstall valve. might prolong it's life a wee bit..

I looked at that, but it's right on the curved side. It will take a bit of shaping as its a compound curve.

Load of ally frames gone today, part of the the job with the steel frames several posts up, 24 of each type and all of the welds ground flush, I hate grinding and am glad to see the back of them, the clean up in the workshop to get rid of the grinding fallout took all afternoon.

Its actually for an events company, modular bars and wall panels, they will be clad in various mdf panels to make up themed areas for parties etc,
I reckon I know what you were thinking though and have made those in the past too, very similar.

Yes works well in most cases as the heat also helps break the corrosion, especially good in snapped off screws/bolts in Alu.

Its not meant to actually be used as a hammer, it weighs just over 20kg and thats a 50mm solid bar so gripping it isnt the easiest

Cant say i haven't smashed it off a few things though its like a dead blow hammer because its filled with 2mm punched blanks from our scaff board mill.

ive been welding this up with oil arc welder 2.5 rods

size is 6" length x 5" width x 11" height, 3/4" plate sides and base

13 amp fuse blew on me at this point so ground that weld off and redid the full length



one side finished otherside to do
