i've fitted the new hydraulic ram (at long last)

and it's great

I bought the ram on eBay a few months back and have only just around to making up the new mounts

at full reach it'll go up to nearly 10 feet

now all i have to do is to clean it up add a handle and give it a coat of paint

Well i did want a little more lift but i think that i got a bit more that i bargained for

That last pic 2cv............what will it lift at that elevation and angle? Not that much?

i'm not sure

with the old 2 ton bottle jack it used to lift 400kg at it's shortest and 250kkg when at it's longest

the new ram is about 8 ton but i wouldn’t want to lift anything heavy to that height

the whole rig might just fall over

The guys at the local laser and jet cutters, say the jets more accurate, and its of course a cold cut, so is ideal for any material, They have a profile on display thats the same shape, cut in both leather, and 1" M/S...

TBH I wouldnt be disapointed if either machine found its way in my direction...

probably a stupid question but how do you stop a laser or water jet once its cut throught

or do you calibrate it so finely that it just stops when it breaks through
